THE IMPORTANCE OF PLAY IN CHILDHOOD

How laser tag can help your child learn important skills

January 28, 2020

Play is a big part of childhood and is crucial in childhood development. As a provider of kids' activities, we as a company find it important to offer a growing opportunity for our young audience with a dedication to active and cooperative play in our experiences.

Laser tag and soft play are a great way for kids to learn communication skills, team-building skills and locomotive skills in a fun and engaging way.

The ACTIVE Project in South Wales worked to improve the active levels of 900 children and teenagers. Giving the children vouchers, they tried to encourage fitness through granting more accessibility to active-experiences.

They found that, when given the opportunity, the 900 children and teenagers observed opted for more social fitness activities such as trampolining, laser tag and water park visits. Laser tag accounted for 11% of voucher redemptions with a near even gender split for boys and girls.

They concluded that giving an option of more informal fitness activities helped to increase activity across the 900 participants, that structured fitness activities - such as school-run football, netball, hockey and other sports - may have been pushing boys and girls away from fitness activities.

Laser tag can burn up to 600 calories an hour for an active participant. The informal and fun environment is a great encouragement for fitness and exercise.
